Acrylic Mirror vs. Glass Mirror

Please note that this is an info page for punch needle/tufted mirrors

Need some help deciding on which would be best suited for you? Here's a breakdown of the pros and cons of each mirror material.

Acrylic Mirrors

  • more lightweight, therefore more shatter resistant
  • safer for those who will be moving the piece around often
  • not recommended to be placed in damp environments or environments with high humidity
  • less scratch resistant, therefore harder to clean
  • lesser reflective quality than glass mirrors, more prone to warping
  • cheaper
Glass Mirrors
  • more weather resistant
  • more scratch resistant, therefore easier to clean
  • offers true and (close to) perfect reflection
  • heavier, therefore more likely to shatter
  • not as safe for those who will be moving the piece around often
  • pricier

Hopefully the above is able to help you in your final decision!

(Overall, I would recommend acrylic for those who are using the mirrors as casual decorative pieces, and glass for those who are using them for practical, everyday functional use 😊)
